General Description
• Xylidine Ponceau 2R is largely confined to Masson’s trichrome, where it gives a slight orange shading to the red of the cytoplasmic structures
Application
• Xylidine Ponceau 2R is a histological dye used mainly for the staining of thin sections
• It shows cardiotoxic and carcinogenic activities
• It has been used to prepare Fuchsin-Ponceau solution to stain an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis tissue-engineered skin model
