Applications
Useful in the staining of Negri bodiesIndigo carmine is used as a food colorant, pH indicator and dissolved ozone indicator. It is used to detect amino fluid leaks, highlight portions of the urinary tract, tissue stains and tool for the determination of hypochlorite. As a dye in renal function, it is used in testing and detection of nitrates and chlorates, and in the testing of milk.
