General Description
• 3,3′-Diaminobenzidine tetrahydrochloride hydrate is an organic compound used as a peroxidase substrate
Application
• 3,3′-Diaminobenzidine tetrahydrochloride hydrate is commonly used for immunoblotting and immunohistochemical staining techniques
• It has also been used for the histological stain to measure the peroxidase activity. The interaction between 3,3′-Diaminobenzidine tetrahydrochloride hydrate and peroxidase leads to the formation of a visible insoluble product. Therefore, it has been applied to measure glutamate decarboxylase activity in rat cerebellar sections and to detect horseradish peroxidase presence on cultured cell surfaces
• It is used as a chromogen for detecting the antigen-antibody complex
• This compound is also used in several laboratory applications, including electron and light microscope, and FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization)
