Applications
Isoprene is used in to prepare synthetic version of natural rubber by polymerization using Ziegler catalysts. It is a basic building block for terpenes especially carotenes, terpenoids, retinol, vitamin-A and tocopherol (Vitamin-E). It finds Application in medical equipments, toys, baby bottle nipples, shoe soles, elastic films and threads for golf balls. Copolymer prepares in association with styrene is used in pressure sensitive adhesives.
